What's New At The PeanutVan
What's New

Come See Us At
The Markets This Month!

1st September 2010: If you can't make it to one of our Peanut Vans this month, you can see us at quite a lot of other places - including the Heritage Ag Show in Toowoomba from August 31st to September 2nd and the Toowoomba Fower, Food and Wine Festival from the 17th to 19th September.

Naturally, you can also see us at a lot of South East Queensland markets in September too.

These include:
We'll be carrying a full range of Peanut Van products at all these markets and we love meeting our mail order customers. So if you're an existing Peanut Van customer, be sure to drop by our stand and say "Hi!"

Photo: Liam - a big fan of The Peanut Van - paid a visit to our stand at the EKKA last month and Robbie managed a quick photo on his mobile phone which he promised we'd put on our website. So thankyou Liam! (and sorry it's a bit blurry - mobile phones are getting better but they're still not as good as full-blown digital cameras)

Oh Yes!!!
The Maccas Are Back!!!
(And It Was Worth The Wait)

17th August 2010: We're very pleased to announce that after a break of several months, you can now obtain delicious all-Australian macadamias from us again.

We've been out of macadamias since about March this year. This is probably the longest time we've ever had any of our regular lines out of stock since The Peanut Van started 1969. And you're probably asking: Huh? Why so?

The reason is that in late summer this year the major macadamia farming areas in northern NSW were hit by a big flood. This not only wiped out most of their crop, but it took out quite a lot of their storage stock as well.

Naturally, the macadamia farmers had pre-existing commitments with all the big food manufacturers. And when the flood waters went down and they'd had time to work out their losses, it turned out that they had enough - barely enough! - to meet their supply contracts. So all the rest of us have just had to wait until things normalised a bit again.

We're farmers ourselves so we certainly understand the pickle that the macadamia farmers found themselves in! And because The Peanut Van has always supported all-Australian foodstuffs, we refused on principle to import macadamias to fill the gap.

Instead - just like you - we've been waiting patiently for things to get back to normal so we could continue our long-standing support for these great Aussie farmers. And that's why we're so pleased to report that things seem to have finally turned the corner for them.

And this means that if you want to add macadmias to your nut supply again, you can now pick up 375gm or 1kg packs from any of our retail outlets or order them online through our website. Our macadamias are as delicious as they ever were and they're guaranteed (as always!) 100% Australian. And thankyou for waiting so patiently with us while we looked for everything to come right again.

Looking For The Peanut Man?
Then Come On In To The Peanut Van!

22nd April 2010: You can now reach The Peanut Van on two domains: the well-known peanutvan.com.au that we've had for the last 10 years, and now on peanutman.com.au as well.

Why the extra domain? Well, ever since we rolled out our TV ad a little earlier this year (you can see it at right) we've found that some people who've never bought peanuts from us before have been typing "peanut man" into the search engines when they've tried to find our web site.

We really appreciate their interest and we're always looking for ways to make things easier and better for our customers. So when we found out that peanutman.com.au was available we purchased that domain too. And that means you should be able to find us by either method in the future!

Are You On Our
Peanut Van Mailing List?
Sign Up Now - It's Easy!

18th April 2010: Are you on The Peanut Van's mailing list? If you're not and you'd like to be, signing up is easy!.

Just put your name and email address into the "Stay In Touch" box that now appears on the left-hand side of most pages on our website and click the "Yes please!" button.

The Peanut Van has been putting out newsletters ever since 1969 and these days we try to send out a newsletter every 6 to 8 weeks (depending on how busy we are - some times of the year are much busier for farming than others as we're sure you'd understand!)

Every issue is full of quirky information about peanuts and peanut farming; recipes; odd bits we think you'll enjoy; and other things that have caught our eye and which we think might interest you as well.

We also try to include at least one special offer for our readers every time we put out a newsletter as our way of saying "Thank you!" for being a subscriber. Many of these offers never appear on our website - or if they do, they get to all our subscribers first. Naturally, your email details are never shared with anybody (in accordance with our Privacy Policy). And you can unsubsribe at any time by simply returning any of our newsletters with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.

So if you're not on our mailing list, why not fill in the "Stay In Touch" box right now? It only takes 30 seconds and we'd be delighted to add you to the thousands of people who already enjoy receiving each issue.
